Nancy's Story

Nancy Wilhelms has over 25 years of experience in the business world and is the author of Yes! You Can Do It! The Young Woman’s Guide to Starting a Fulfilling Career. In addition to authoring books and articles, Nancy is an entrepreneur, speaker, mentor and coach. She has helped countless young women join the workforce by intentionally mapping their career path to fill their lives with passion and joy.  

Nancy is the founder and CEO of an award-winning global marketing communications firm and has enjoyed leadership roles in private industry, government and non-profit organizations. Sharing her passion for women’s empowerment through her real-world stories and her lively sense of humor, Nancy is a sought-after speaker and broadcast guest.

Nancy’s love of music led her to her first job where she ran a 10-day festival stage at Milwaukee Summerfest featuring the big names in music of the day from Aretha to the Doors. She went on to work with clients and designers at an ad agency, coordinate employee communications for an international corporation, serve as marketing director for a hotel and casino chain and work for the Governor of Nevada as his administrative assistant and press secretary before founding her own marketing communications firm. In between, she traveled the rodeo circuit as a freelance photographer.

In 2011, Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen/Snowmass tapped Nancy as marketing director and named her to Executive Director, a position she held for six years. Nancy has delivered talks and workshops for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Alliance of Artists Communities, among others.

Nancy is a road biker, skier, standup paddleboarder and hiker. Her pursuit of photography has resulted in many adventures, and Nancy’s photos of the American West have been published in the New York Times, Cowboys and Indians and The American Cowboy.

Nancy and her husband live in Basalt, Colorado, and Palm Springs, California and enjoy Baja, Mexico.
